Poetry of the soul

"You may tie my hands with chains and my feet with shackles, and put me in the dark prison, but you shall not enslave my thinking, for it is free, like the breeze in the spacious sky"- Khalil Gibran
Khalil Gibran ... poet, philosopher, painter. Author of the beautest literary work "The Prophet".
***

Khalil Gibran, my favorite poet, philosopher, painter, sculptor wrote in his short life, nearly thirty books. "The Prophet" is his first book. When he wrote the Prophet he was very young (21 years old). However, none of his beautiful books is so beautiful. Prophet is a masterpiece in the literature.
Gibran's desire was to make a little better this world, to cheer us, to convince us that there is a better way of life. And everyone can find it for yourself.
Prophet is a book which can not be read and forget. Wisdom contained in it is useful in our life many times. Its passages are quoted at weddings, birthdays, funerals and many other occasions, as the hero of the book, Almustafa sage, speaks about:
Marriage, The Children, Love, Friendship and Death.

Marriage

Then Almitra spoke again and said, "And what of Marriage, master?"
And he answered saying:
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

The life is about your soul...

"The life is about your soul, not about your body and
not about your mind".
-
Neale Donald Walsch, author of
Conversations with God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 1)

Most people work hard to keep the body happy.
Then they seek to stimulate their mind.
Then...if there is time...
they look after their soul.

Yet the most beneficial priority
has it just the other way around.

When was the last time you paid attention to your soul?

The desire of my soul

I like to stop at
the drop of rain
the first snow
feed the squirrels ...

and here the sun ...

The wind may bring you
my words
touch your heart
I love the wind ....

and I love you...

I'm not looking for friends
Fate puts in my way
faces memorable
I try to understand human

and squirrel...

"The Hopi Indians of Arizona believe that our daily rituals and prayers literally keep this world spinning on its axis. For me, feeding the seagulls is one of those everyday prayers." - Brenda Peterson

Autumn leaf

Autumn
outside my window
wind twirling, whirling, dancing
until the last leaf falls
straight at my window
as an invited Angel
how could I not love you

Flu Alert

I know we’re all anxious about swine flu this season, but the truth is that for most people, the flu–no matter what type of flu it is–doesn’t pose a serious danger. Colds and flu normally cause what doctors like to refer to as “self-limited” illness–this means you feel sick but eventually get better on your own. Typically there’s really no point in calling the doctor, because antibiotics don’t work on flu since it’s caused by a virus. Anti-viral medications, such as Tamiflu, aren’t usually necessary to recover.
In some cases, though, the flu develops into something more dangerous, such as pneumonia or other complications.

Above me, cloudy sky,
emptiness in me ...
The little word of the blessed morning,
changed my day ...
for better.

I noteced a blooming rose's smile,
and I looked in the squirrel's eyes.
